A retreat can mean a quiet day, a taught workshop, a hosted weekend, or a private group stay. Before searching by destination, write down what you hope to spend time doing. Is your priority rest, learning a creative practice, meeting people, or having unstructured time? Choose one primary aim and one secondary aim. That simple ranking makes attractive but mismatched programs easier to recognize.
If creative participation matters, read the schedule for actual hands-on time. If rest is the priority, look for generous breaks and an optional pace. The word wellness alone does not tell you how a day is structured.

Check what is confirmed
Treat every date, facilitator, venue photograph, and amenity as a detail to verify on the specific program page. Ask whether the experience is announced and reservable, who leads each part, where it takes place, and what happens if a listed element changes. A concept page can be useful for exploring a direction, but it is not a substitute for a confirmed itinerary.

Ask about the experience between sessions
The spaces between scheduled activities often decide whether a retreat feels spacious or rushed. Look for a clear answer about group size, time alone, meals, transportation, and whether activities are optional. If privacy, dietary needs, mobility, or quiet space matters to you, ask before committing rather than assuming a photograph implies it.
Las Vegas can support very different kinds of trips. For any outdoor time, check the weather close to travel and ask how the organizer adapts the schedule when conditions change. The National Weather Service recommends moving strenuous outdoor activity to cooler times during extreme heat.

- Can you opt out of an activity without losing the thread of the day?
- What is the plan for weather, transport, and accessibility?
Compare the total commitment, not just the headline
For each option, write one line for the program price, travel, lodging, food, local transport, and any extras. Then compare cancellation terms and payment timing. A one-day format may suit someone who wants an introduction; a longer format may offer more transition time but require more planning. Neither is automatically better.
A useful final test is whether the organizer answers your practical questions clearly. If a detail is not yet confirmed, an honest 'not yet' is more useful than a polished promise.
